Presentation

Your phone's softkeys, also known as BLF (Busy Lamp Field) or DSS (Direct Station Selection), are located on the sides of the screen.

Depending on your phone model, the number of buttons may vary.

T33G
T42S
T54W

If your phone has 4 or more programmable buttons, you can program several pages of buttons. In this case, the last button on the bottom right will allow you to change pages, and access the buttons on the other pages.

  • T23 = 3 keys
  • T27 = 21 keys on 3 pages
  • T31 = 2 keys
  • T33 = 12 keys on  4 pages
  • T42 = 15 keys on  3 pages
  • T46 = 27 keys on  3 pages
  • T53 = 21 keys on  3 pages
  • T54 = 27 keys on  3 pages

It is possible to extend the number of keys with an expansion module.

Contact TicTelecom to find out which modules are compatible with your phone model.

These modules can generally add up to 60 keys on 3 pages.

Some phones can support up to 3 modules side by side, for a potential total of 207 keys!

Setting up

Keys can be changed via the user's web interface (webclient).

If you don't have access to your webclient, ask your administrator or TicTelecom to send you a "Welcome" e-mail.

Note: For more information on the webclient, please consult this article.

From your webclient, click on the 3 dots, then on "Settings".

Then click on "BLF".

You'll then see the keys that are currently programmed for your extension, displayed in 2 columns.

The numbers to the left of each row correspond to the position of the key on your phone.

The first column defines the key's action, and the second column, its value. Simply click on the action you wish to modify, to scroll through the different choices.

You can then define the value, depending on the type of action chosen.

  • Blank:
Means that the key has no assigned action.
  • Line:
The "Line" button allows you to create a new call from the phone, represents calls on hold and flashes for incoming calls. It enables you to efficiently manage several calls simultaneously on the device, simply by pressing the key to switch from one call to another.
These keys are not mandatory, and you can still manage several calls simultaneously, using your phone's up and down arrows, without resorting to this type of key.
  • BLF:
The BLF (Busy Lamp Field) has several functions:
    • Reach the defined user at the touch of a button (on a new call).
    • Transfer the current call to the user. Simply press the button when you're in a call.
    • Intercept the call intended for the defined user. If the key is flashing red, the user is ringing. If you press the button while it is flashing, you will intercept the call.
    • The LED changes according to the extension being monitored, providing information about the user:
      User inactive = Green
      User ringing = Blinking red
      User busy = Red
Note: Statuses such as "Do Not Disturb" do not change the color of the BLF.
  • Speed Dial:
Speed dials are used to dial extension numbers only; no presence information is displayed on the LED.
  • Custom speed dial:
Custom speed dial are used to dial any external number or calling code. When adding a custom speed dial, the user must enter the number, a first name and a last name, which will be displayed on the screens. No indicator lights are shown.
  • Agent login/logout:
This key allows you to change your status in the queues in which you are a member, according to the status specified, i.e. "IN" or "OUT". No indicator lights will be used.
Note: This key cannot be used to connect to queues you have explicitly disconnected from via the webclient interface.
For more precise management of your status among several queues, we recommend using the webclient interface, in the "Panel" section.
  • Change status:
This type of action allows you to change the status of your extension to that specified: "Available", "Away", "Do not disturb", "Custom 1", or "Custom 2". No indicator lights are used.

Applying changes

Once the changes have been made, you'll need to update (reprovision) the phone's configuration using one of these methods:

  • Phones update their settings every 24 hours. You can therefore wait for your phone to perform this task on its own..
  • An administrator can reprovision a phone from the administrator console, in the "Phones" section..
  • You can update the phone by going to the basic settings in the device menu.
  • Restart the phone by holding down the "x" key for 6 seconds or by removing the power supply..
